Immigration to Australia is especially for moderately young and skilled people who wish to immigrate to a Country with a great standard of living and outstanding job opportunities. In Australia immigration of skilled migrants is encouraged and is assessed on a points system with points awarded for work experience, qualifications and language proficiency. Other ways of obtaining immigration visas to Australia include the Australian Family Migration and Humanitarian Programs.
Australia's Migration Program for 2004-2005 provides for around 115,000 places, plus an extra 5,000 under the new Australian Skilled Independent Regional visa, for a total of 120,000 immigrants.
The Concept : Skilled Migrations
There are a few basic rules for the above-mentioned Subclass Visa. They are reciprocated by the point system outline of the Department:
For Skilled Migration to Australia applicants will be assessed against a points test. They will qualify for PR at 120 points and for SIR at 100 points. The points are awarded for following categories:
Skill
Age
English Language Ability
Specific Work Experience
Spouse Skill
Relationship (Australian Sponsored)
MODL
Other Bonus Points for specific categories such as the Areas where the applicant migrates to and special language skills, financial deposits etc.
SKILL
The occupation the applicant nominates must be on the Skilled Occupations List current at the time of application and should be one, which fits applicant’s skills and qualifications, and experience for better chances of successful application. The applicant receives the points allocated for his nominated skilled occupation.
The highest points that the applicant can get are 60 and the lowest is 40. We would prefer taking applications with the highest points as they increase the chances of easy assessment.
AGE
Applicant's up to the age of 44 are considered eligible but that reduces the points so applicants below 35 years of age are preferred as that gives them more points.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ABILITY
If the applicant scores 6 Bands in each section of IELTS in the General Modules the applicant gets 20 points, which is the maximum one can get in this section, but incase if the score 5 points in all four sections then the points come down to 15 which is the lowest, and no applicant can apply with band score lower than 5.
SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE
The applicant should have at least 4 years of experience relevant to the field of education.
SPOUSE SKILL
The applicant’s spouse should be a graduate and should have two years of experience in the relevant field of education as it gives 5 points to the applicant.
RELATIONSHIP (Australian Sponsored)
If the applicant or his/ her spouse has a relative who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident and is willing to sponsor them, it gives 15 points to the applicant.
MODL (Migration Occupation in Demand List)
If the applicant’s occupation is in the MODL it gives 15 points more to the applicant.
PROCEDURE
