Diploma of Business Systems
Course Description
The Diploma of Business Systems is approximately 12 months full-time* or 38 months part-time*. This course has been designed to develop skills in IT business systems design and development and will provide you with the most extensive IT knowledge base.
 
What will I learn?
The skills that you will gain will qualify you for a diverse range of job roles across the IT industry. Providing advanced training in PC technology, the Diploma takes you from a basic understanding of technology to a thorough understanding of operating systems, networking, programming, programming concepts and programming applications development. You will learn all aspects of the IT business system cycle including the analysis, design, development and implementation and evaluation of systems to increase business effi ciencies. In addition, you will learn to design, create, document and implement computer programs in six languages. You can also elect to train in web technologies such as multimedia networking, web design tools and web script development that are highly sought after by industry.
 
Programming/Web Development/Design
The Diploma of Business Systems offers skills in networking, systems analysis, database management and programming in six languages plus the opportunity to train in Internet technology and web related skills to provide strong opportunities in a web based career. Business Systems presents a wide career path that could lead into a multitude of areas including programming or web development/design.

What do I need to start?
To ascertain whether you qualify for a course at Computer Power Institute, you must obtain a satisfactory result on our entrance assessment. Ideally, you will have successfully completed Year 12/UE or Bursary or have work experience behind you. Of course, you also need enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
Complete computing tasks and functions in a number of operating system environments
Code a well structured solution to a problem in a variety of programming languages
Configure and administer a local area network
Use common word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database and accounting packages
Analyse client requirements and design, develop, code and evaluate the appropriate business solution
Demonstrate communication, problem solving, time management, goal setting, planning and customer relation skills.
